Wade H. Logan III has been named “Lawyer of the Year” for Mediation in Charleston, SC, by Best Lawyers®.

With a primary focus of alternative dispute resolution in mediation and arbitration and more than four decades of experience, Wade now serves as special counsel to Buist Byars & Taylor.

He has been mediating cases for over two decades in both state and federal courts. Areas of focus have included construction, medical malpractice, products liability, professional negligence claims, wrongful death, and commercial litigation. He has handled numerous complex, multi-party cases and is available to mediate both in and out of South Carolina.

Wade is a past President of the South Carolina Bar and past Chairman of the Judicial Council of the State of South Carolina. He also actively served as a member of the Southern Conference of Bar Presidents, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association, the Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline of the South Carolina Supreme Court, and as Charleston County Attorney.

A South Carolina native, Wade earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He resides on Sullivan’s Island with his wife of over 40 years, Eunice, and enjoys reading historical fiction and spending time with their two adult children and three grandchildren.
