G. Hamlin O'Kelley — Principal

Hamlin O'Kelley manages the litigation practice for Buist, Byars & Taylor, LLC.  Hamlin practices in areas related to real property including landlord tenant disputes, foreclosures, quiet title actions, construction litigation, and title insurance defense.  Additionally, Hamlin represents numerous homeowners' and property owners' associations in debt collection, covenant disputes, general litigation, and risk management. 

 

Originally from Beaufort, S.C., Hamlin earned his bachelor's degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston County Bar Association.  He is admitted to practice in the United States District, District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Hamlin served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jackson V. Gregory, in Beaufort.

 

O'Kelley resides in Charleston with his wife, Mary Perrin Johnson O'Kelley and their two daughters.
