Custis M. Byars — Shareholder
Custis Byars is a partner focused on areas of real estate law such as like kind exchanges and limited liability company law. He is based in the firm's Johns Island office. Born in Chapel Hill, N.C., Custis received his bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston and his law degree from the University of South Carolina. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of South Carolina and is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association. Before partnering with founder, Thomas G. Buist, to start the firm as it is known today, Custis worked in the contracting business for more than 10 years. He lives on James Island with his wife, Frances, and their two daughters.
